PictureTally ® is a hardware and software system for tallying lumber bundles.
PictureTally ® uses computers, digital cameras, lighting, and controls combined with advanced software to find and measure each board in the lumber bundle.
The tallies are immediately available to your sales staff and can be loaded into any inventory system with the PictureTally ® Inventory Plug-ins.
PictureTally ® saves labor and increases the production efficiency. PictureTally ® visibly shows you that every inch of every board is being measured and counted, so you don’t miscount or give away wood.

PictureTally ® for Logs
PictureTally ® for Logs accurately and quickly scales logs without manual measurement.
For tree-length slashing operations - The camera unit is mounted directly to the exterior of the operator cab. After slashing, the log is pointed at the PictureTally ® camera, and the system operator taps the touch screen to take pictures. The computer software finds all the contours of the log and displays the minimum, maximum, average, and “mean” diameters of the log.
For production line or entering the mill - Logs can be scaled right at the stop-loader or any position where a view of both log ends is available. In that system, two camera units are used, one for each log end. The camera units automatically detect each new log or receive a trigger signal. Each log is measured for diameter and length.
For installations where crook and sweep analysis of logs is required, several camera units are mounted over the logline for scanning from above.
PictureTally ® for Logs is a component-based system to accommodate these varying types of installations. Components include an industrial computer with an optional touchscreen mounted inside the operator’s cab or control area and the camera unit(s), which house the cameras, controls, and laser range-finding systems.

PictureTally ® LineView shows high-resolution pictures of lumber on production lines in real-time. See ALL the details of each piece of lumber: the bottom, top, and optional sides of a cant without slowing down to manually or mechanically touch, turn, or flip the lumber.

BinTally
BinTally is a hardware and software system for measuring, tallying, and sorting lumber on a production line. The system measures lumber length, width, and thickness. Lumber is sorted by grade, thickness, width, and length. Changing sort criteria is quick and easy.
BinTally uses lasers for measuring lumber width and lumber thickness to eliminate errors and increase accuracy. Multiple laser sub-systems can be added on to ensure you're getting exact measurements where you need them.
The BinTally system software is a set of web pages. Using the web keeps it simple, flexible, and accessible from any computer on your network.
BinTally is available for new installations OR is available as a Silvatech tally system retrofit. The retrofit saves you money by reusing components, including NEMA boxes, grading buttons, board-length photocells, remote footage displays, and board-marking systems.

Rugged Shur-Tuff™ 4” x 6” Tags
These Shur-Tuff tags withstand the heat and humidity of lumber kilns, rain, snow, ice, and years of direct sunlight. Print LARGE identification information so you can read the tag on a pack of lumber stacked high in the air.
Tags are individually perforated for tear-off from a roll of 1000 tags.
SATO provides a software program for customized tags that includes automatic sizing of fonts, graphics, logos, and barcodes.
